This is a family run caravan site and is situated nearby a farm, beside Loch Watten. It is a quiet and pleasant area with amazing views across the county side, both day and night. The site is located midway between Wick and Thurso, which are the two main towns in Caithness.
Most of our caravans have there own toilet and shower facilities, there is
also a toilet and shower block on site. There is also a laundry room
which contains washing machine, tumble drier and iron. Each caravan
is equipped with bed linen, but it is preferred if you bring your own
towels.
Wild Brown trout fishing is available on Loch Watten, which is within walking distance from the site. Boats can be hired for either a half day or full day. Fishing is also available on a number of other lochs in the area. Visitors can also purchase a daily permit to fish for salmon on Wick river. There is also a number of golf courses in the area and a world famous tidal current which is perfect for water sports such as surfing. Nearby, in the small village of Watten, you will find services such as petrol filling station, post office and groceries shop. There is also the Brown Trout Hotel which serves meals during the day, and also has a bar.
Thurso is fourteen miles from Watten, here you will find the Viking Bowl (10 Pin Bowling Alley) and the All Star Factory (2 Screen Cinema Complex). You will also find the major supermarkets such as Co-op, Safeway and Lidl. At night time, there are a range of bars and restaurants serving fabulous food and Skinandis Nightclub. One mile from Thurso lies Scrabster, a small fishing village from where you can catch the ferry to Orkney. Further a field you will find many attractions such as John O' Groats, Dunnet Bay, and many more. For sights around Caithness, visit the Wild Caithness for more information.
